Good news, bad news
Well, there’s good news today and there’s bad news.
The good news is that I’ll be missing church tonight. Well, let me rephrase. The good news is that when church starts, I’ll be returning from Ardmore, where I’m picking up Leann and Josh. I’m meeting them and my mom halfway between here and Dallas. We’ll meet at Braum’s (or where ever Leann decides to eat) for dinner. Then after dinner, we’ll head back this way. I’ve decided that 2 1/2 weeks is too long for them to be gone. So next year, I’m hoping it will be more like one week, if Jackson is up to travelling by then.
Now the bad news. While I was working on the computer last night, there was a power outage. The computer has a battery backup, and the outage lasted only about 10 seconds, so I didn’t think too much of it. That is, until I went to watch a little television before I went to bed. Upon turning on the 52″ Samsung DLP, I was greeted with about a dozen vertical red lines and loud static. Despite being hooked into a standard power strip, the television is fried.
I’m going to be calling a television repair shop as soon as it opens around 9am. If they can’t fix it, I’m not entirely sure what we’ll do. On the plus side, the big screens seem to have come down a bit in price. If we have to replace it, it looks like we could get a new one for around $1,500, if we’re willing to lose a couple of inches.
Or we could just get that 65″ for $3,500. Yeah, right.
Counting my blessings, at least I wasn’t on the plane in the picture below.
