Well, it’s official. I am now the proud owner of an 8GB iPhone. Sure, I ended up going to Enid to get it…
Okay, here’s what happened. I headed over to Penn Square Mall around 12:30 or so. I thought there might be forty or fifty people in line. Imagine my surprise when there were more like 200 or so in line. I ended up getting in touch with Tom, a friend of mine and Brent’s who works at the AT&T store in Enid. He assured me that they only had three people in their line so far.
The whole family then headed to Enid, where I ended up 21st in line. Turned out they had thirty iPhones in stock. Thankfully, I was able to get the model I wanted.
Did i mention that I’m blogging from it right now? I have yet to play with all of it, but I like it so far.
Today is Tim’s 29th birthday!! We had a drastically different day planned than how our day actually turned out. We were going to go downtown and have lunch with Tim for his birthday, and dinner somewhere else after work, and the was going to head to AMC after church with Steve to watch the Live Free Die Hard movie that will be opening today. Instead, he woke up at 4am being sick and has been sleeping off an on ever since. It must be a bummer to be sick on your birthday, but at least you got to stay home and watch the Tivo full of X-File reruns and some Colbert Report. Have a better day tomorrow honey, but Happy Birthday anyway!!! I love you!!
I’m really looking forward to the iPhone coming out next week, and just hope I’ll be able to snag one. My cell phonewoes are well documented. My PDA has also recently decided to stop syncing up with my computer. This makes many things useless on it, such as the calendar.
Not only that, but the iPhone will be syncing with my email, my photo library on the computer, my MP3 library on my computer and any movies I choose to put on it.
And while all that is not a capability unique to the iPhone, I feel like the interface and ease of use will be.
I’ll let you know for sure in just over a week. (Hopefully)
Wow, it’s been raining a lot this year. I run a softball association’s web site, and they’ve actually had two weeks where they didn’t get to play at all. First time that happened in years and years, and it happened twice!
In the spirit of looking on the brighter side of things, I decided to look at the positive side of all this rain. So here’s a list of advantages to having all this rain and storms.
* My yard has never looked better. Sure, we now have the lawn guys come once a week instead of once every other week, but that was more about the HOA than the actual length of the grass.
* I sleep great in storms. Don’t know why, I always have.
* Lightning, when it doesn’t strike your house, looks very cool.
* I haven’t gotten eaten alive by bugs this summer. Of course, this is because I haven’t been able to go outside, but still…
* I’m pretty sure this will do nothing but boost opening weekend sales for Evan Almighty. That means more Steve Carell movies in the future. Leann and I love Steve Carell.
There you go. That’s my list, such that it is.
What have you enjoyed or hated about all this rain?
Saturday we went to our church’s safety fair. We were first in line for the car seat safety check. Everything checked out okay, though our mirror for looking at Jackson was deemed a safety hazard.
Afterwards we walked around, ate hot dogs, popcorn and donuts. Josh used to not like hot dogs much, but he ended up eating an entire dog, minus the bread. Of course, he loved the popcorn, and munched on that for quite awhile.
The highlight of the day may have been when Josh got to sit in a firetruck and then in a helicopter.
Josh was extremely disappointed when he did not win a prize in the drawing. There’s been a few events we’ve gone to where he’s put his name in for something, and he has yet to win. Poor kid…
