And no, this isn’t all she’s getting.
Today is my birthday (Actually not until 1:22 pm but I came on Thanksgiving Day, during lunch of course) and I will be 31, but I am ok with it. I got a ton of presents from everyone this Thanksgiving weekend, I had tons of fun. I did thanksgiving with my entire family (my parents, Tim’s parents and Josh). Friday we were at Kohl’s at 5:05 AM to buy some cool stuff (for Cheryl) then to Walmart, Target and Old Navy. While I was at Old Navy trying on clothes, I looked at my watch and it was 7:35 AM. What am I usually doing at 7:35? Getting ready to start my day, not shopping.
Later that day, we headed to Tulsa for the Duncan Family Thanksgiving and suprise 50th Wedding Anniversary for Ernest and Elva. It was really sweet, and they were totally suprised. On Saturday, we celebrated my birthday with Tim’s parents and Doug took us out to PF Changs! It was great!! After that, you guessed it, more shopping (my awesome son took a 2 hour nap in the stroller while I was shopping) then back home for the Wizard of Oz (Tim’s pick) Sunday morning was church, then Thanksgiving leftovers for lunch and then laying around until Tim’s parents left for Dallas.
We stayed home the rest of the evening and Monday moring (my actuall birthday) I am getting ready and writing this blog. Off to Target to spend my giftcards and some lunch with Cheryl…..I will write more later after I return home. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!
Ah, Black Friday, how I loathe thee. Let me count the ways…
Actually, I’m weird and kind of like the day of shopping right after Thanksgiving. Weird for a guy, I guess. However, this year, dad and I did not get up early and go shopping. In fact, as I type this, dad’s still asleep.
Instead, we went to the 11:59pm opening of CompUSA. I was able to pick up several items, including a battery-backup for my computer. And most of the stuff I picked up was T&S related, so it footed the bill.
I was going to get up by 5am and run to Wal Mart too, until I discovered I could buy all the stuff I wanted last night online (can you say DVDs?), and already at the discounted prices. So instead, I slept in until 8am or so.
Of course, when I woke up, Leann, mom and Rebekah were long gone. In fact, I got up, got Josh’s diaper changed and dressed him, took a shower then got dressed myself, and had just started breakfast with Josh when the girls got home. They were only gone shopping about four hours or so.
So I guess I technically did take place in Black Friday shopping, although it was the earliest kind of Black Friday shopping, the night before.

I kept trying to get Leann to blog about this, but she hasn’t, so I will before it’s old news.
Josh has now said four sentences, though one was a repeat.
1. Mommy, snack.
2. My daddy!
3. Bye bye dog.
4. My daddy!
So I wasn’t number 1, but I was at least the even numbers. And let’s face it. Just like the Star Trek movies, the even ones are really the good ones.
[i”>EDIT: I forgot to mention that all the sentences were in the last week, which is why it was a big deal. 2, 3 & 4 were over the weekend, and I got to witness those three. Leann didn’t tell me about #1 until #2 happened, so for a blissful moment, I thought I was #1. No such luck.[/i”>
Brent, if you’re reading this, you should enjoy this:
You know, I’ve decided blogs are just uninteresting without any pictures. I recently started making an effort in my web design blog to put an image in entries of any length.
Now if only I had time to get our gallery back in working shape here. That, and make it easier for Leann to post pictures in the blog.
I just realized this blog entry is boring. Here’s a picture to remedy that. Enjoy!
Monday night/Tuesday morning, the Christian Chronicle website went live. I had my longest meeting ever with a client (8 hours) and we were working on the final details of the site until 3:30 am. Thanks to Tamie Ross, online editor extraordinaire for putting in so much hard work and energy. Now I don’t want to see you again for at least a couple of weeks.
Seriously, not only am I glad to get the site online because it’s a completed project, but it was a big project, so it was definitely taking time away from the family. So it will be good to get back into the swing of things with Leann and Josh.
